content : "Medium and large enterprises and institutions tend to rely \
upon mail systems installed and managed in-house, in order to ensure \
better protection of \
confidential records. Traditionally, such systems have been based on \
proprietary, commercial, closed-source platforms, and this has often \
resulted in users being locked-in to one particular vendor. \
<p>More and more often, users are now realizing that switching \
to other vendors (or even to opensource applications)who provide the \
option of using  one of the Internet standards (SMTP/POP3/IMAP) \
based mail servers available for Linux and Windows may bring substantial \
cost reductions, giving them the greatest latitude in selecting an email \
client. Also they realize that although proprietary products such as \
Domino and MS Exchange Server support standard Internet email protocols, \
this support is secondary to the main product and is not part of the \
product's native operating mode.\
